Poke (“Poke”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is developed and operated by Codisty. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. Poke is an unofficial, third‑party client for Facebook for Apple Watch and iPhone. Poke is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc.
Summary
Poke is designed to keep your data on your device. When you log in, your Facebook session is stored securely on your device and is used only to communicate directly between your device and Facebook. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your Facebook credentials, messages, or content.
Information the App accesses
- Facebook login session. To use Poke you log in to Facebook on your iPhone using Facebook’s own web login. Poke stores the resulting session cookies in your device’s app storage so you stay signed in, and hands them to your paired Apple Watch. Your password is sent only to Facebook during login and is never stored by Poke or transmitted to Codisty.
- Facebook content. The feed, Reels, stories, Marketplace, profiles, comments, reactions, notifications, and activity you view are fetched directly from Facebook to your device in order to display them. This content is not routed through or stored by Codisty.
- Local settings. Preferences such as appearance (light/dark) and background-refresh interval are stored locally on your device.
- Subscription status. Your optional Poke+ subscription is processed by Apple. Poke receives only your entitlement status (whether you have an active subscription) from Apple’s StoreKit. We do not receive your name, payment card, or other payment details.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect or store your Facebook username or password on any server.
- We do not run analytics servers that track your usage, and we do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.
- We do not have access to your Facebook messages or content — it stays between your device and Facebook.
How your information is used
- To authenticate you with Facebook and keep you signed in.
- To display the Facebook content you request within the App.
- To sync your login from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch (using Apple’s WatchConnectivity), so you can use Poke on your watch.
- To unlock Poke+ premium features based on your Apple subscription entitlement.
Data sharing
- Facebook (Meta). Because Poke is a client for Facebook, your activity interacts with Facebook’s servers and is governed by Facebook’s own terms and privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
- Apple. Subscriptions and in‑app purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
We do not share your information with any other third parties.
Data storage and security
Your Facebook session and settings are stored on your device using Apple’s storage. Login and data traffic use encrypted (HTTPS) connections to Facebook. Because your data is stored on your device, its security also depends on your device’s own protections (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID).
Your choices and data deletion
- Log out at any time from the App. Logging out deletes the stored session from your device.
- Uninstall Poke to remove all locally stored data, including your session and settings.
- To manage or delete data held by Facebook itself, use the Facebook app or https://www.facebook.com.
Children
Poke is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required to hold a Facebook account in your country. Do not use Poke if you are under that age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date above.
