MiniTube Privacy Policy

MiniTube (“MiniTube”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is developed and operated by Codisty. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. MiniTube is an unofficial, third‑party client for YouTube for Apple Watch and iPhone. MiniTube is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC.

Summary

MiniTube is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your account credentials, viewing activity, or content. Video information is fetched directly between your device and YouTube.

Information the App accesses

Google / YouTube sign‑in (optional). Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in, you do so on your iPhone using Google’s own web login. MiniTube stores the resulting session cookies in your device’s secure storage so you stay signed in, to show you personalized results, and to authenticate video playback. Your password is sent only to Google during login and is never stored by MiniTube or transmitted to Codisty.
YouTube content. The trending feeds, search results, Shorts, thumbnails, and videos you view are fetched directly from YouTube to your device in order to display and play them. This content is not routed through or stored by Codisty.
Local settings. Preferences (such as audio‑only mode) and any history/favorites you create are stored locally on your device.
Subscription status. Your optional MiniTube+ subscription is processed by Apple. MiniTube receives only your entitlement status (whether you have an active subscription) from Apple’s StoreKit. We do not receive your name, payment card, or other payment details.

Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect or store your Google account credentials on any server.
We do not run analytics servers that track your usage, and we do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.
We do not have access to your viewing activity — it stays between your device and YouTube.

How your information is used

To browse, search, and play YouTube content you request within the App.
If you sign in, to personalize results and to authenticate playback with YouTube.
To sync your sign‑in and MiniTube+ status from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch (using Apple’s WatchConnectivity), so you can use MiniTube on your watch.
To unlock MiniTube+ premium features based on your Apple subscription entitlement.

Data sharing

YouTube / Google. Because MiniTube is a client for YouTube, your activity interacts with YouTube’s servers and is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Apple. Subscriptions and in‑app purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

We do not share your information with any other third parties.

Data storage and security

Your session and settings are stored on your device using Apple’s secure storage. Login and data traffic use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Because your data is stored on your device, its security also depends on your device’s own protections (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID).

Your choices and data deletion

Sign out at any time from the App. Signing out deletes the stored session from your device.
Uninstall MiniTube to remove all locally stored data, including your session, history, and settings.
To manage or delete data held by Google itself, use https://myaccount.google.com.

Children

MiniTube is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of MiniTube after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
